Be Your Own "Cause"

Look around. Can you see it? There are so many causes to support.Where do you start? The major health issues like cancer, heart & lung disease, arthritis, and diabetes all have their organizations working to find a cure. But, I noticed something during my search for a non-profit organization to partner with for the The Princess Promenade. Unfortunately, nobody is talking about it.

What major health issue is being overlooked, yet is the major cause to all the other health issues I just listed.Not one organized event targets it. I'm not sure why, but for some reason, it is difficult to talk about. Even doctors hesitate to say it.

It's Obesity.
"The O Word." And it's obvious is you have it. Unlike cancer or diabetes which may go undetected for years, you know immediately if you or someone else is obese. You can tell if you yourself are on your way. Extra 10 pounds here, add a few more there, before you know it, overweight turns into obese. But it doesn't stop there. Obese is readily turning into morbidly obese.

So say it. We are fighting obesity. It solves soooo many other problems. Let's go to the root cause, step up, and have the courage to say it. Get involved by dusting off your old bike and start training with us. Join the summer season cycling group as we Prep for the Princess. Starts Saturday, June 9th. Drop in rate available if you miss the first day.
